Beautiful Mess, The Story of Diamond Rio, was a story of true success. While not necessarily written from the Christian perspective, this book teaches about endurance, sticking together and overcoming negative things that come across your path. It is a story of never giving up and never blaming the other members of the group – the group was one and is one – making decisions together for the better whole of the common good.
This country group who has been together for over 20 years has been through many ups and downs – several of which would have caused other groups to give it all up. I am a country music fan but never knew of the hardships and issues they have had. Each member comes from a different part of the US and they have very varied backgrounds – some childhood backgrounds affecting who they were and are today. The book talks about the group’s hardships but then each member’s story is told in detail so that the reader understands them as individuals – just not as a whole.
