Kids & Shoppng

Tonight I decided I'm a glutton for punishment. Took the girls to Hobby Lobby hunting for one specific thing. After touching nearly everything & two trips to the potty, we finally got out for under $65 ! Then it was on to Target (because I absolutely despise Walmart) - for household items. Finally we made it home for supper.......two little girls were still on "talk/shop/touch) mode because it took 45 minutes to eat.

They are presently asleep and I am beat - I feel like I've run a 5K marathon or lifted weights for an hour.

Not much thought tonight so sleep well my friends.

Stress, Work, Kids & Life !

I was off Monday due to the Columbus Day Holiday. I intended to go to a movie by myself but got caught up in organizing kids' clothes, the house, etc. I felt better & like I got something accomplished but then........
Good ol' Satan crept in yesterday and today. After a meeting last night, I had a headache. I went to bed but did not rest well - actually forgot that I was supposed to make cupcakes for a wedding shower at work :-( Can you say Kroger Red Velvet Cake run at 7 o'clock this morning ?!?

Then, I showed something I had done to my manager who disagreed with my viewpoint on a review, made me redo it and then discuss the change with the employee. He took it well considering that he is sort of emotional & tends to depress over things. I really like this employee & hated to change the review but in a way she was right. It stressed me enough that the headache returned.

I did the right thing & went to church and have prayed myself well ! I feel better about everything and plan to go to sleep early to get some rest !

Finally It's Friday

I've probably never been so glad it's Friday. After the last two weeks I've had, I plan to lay low :-) I hae been really disappointed in our school lately. They have had an outbreak of Shigella - more than 10% of the kids sick at one time. The toilets are disgustingly nasty, the office staff & adminstration does not seem proactive at getting rid of the parasites it makes me angry. I have friends whose children have had it more than two times & missed up to 3 weeks of school.

Each of my daughter's have had it - although mild cases but I certainly don't want them to get it again !

I am constantly praying for safety for them and the school - now it's gonna be prayers for no sickness.

A Weary Soul

Tonight I am weary from one end to the other, both physically and mentally. There is an outbreak of shigella at my daughters' school. My older daughter had it last week and starting today, the younger daughter has gotten it. They have run high fever, thrown up and had diarrhea. One day there were more than 70 children out of school with it so I certainly hope the school is conducting a complete disinfection all day !

I really want to blog every night but I just can't find the time.

I also started a new book and have joined Lisa Whelchel's book club - she is a great inspiration for all mothers. The book is "Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible" and it has been a great read so far.

Try it - you can join us in our quest for Bible truths :-)

What Do You Call This One ?

You know how you have some family members who drive you crazy because they spend all their time telling you what you should do differently, that their way is better......... well...

I have to remind myself to worry about only me - I don't answer to God about their actions - only about how I react to them. I pray every day for patience, guidance, etc.

It's an albatross - remember the story of the sailor ? I have several albatrosses around my neck as do we all. Friends - I hope you have very few if any of these annoying birds & burdens.

Tuesday This Week Is Really a Monday

Today was one of those days that starts out good but then it goes downhill from there. My five year old had a field trip to go see a cotton field in Pelahatchie and pick some cotton. I took 1/2 my anniversary day off to go with her...........her first big-girl trip for kindergarten. We looked like a huge caravan going down I-20 - four busses and at least 30 cars ! It was great fun - cool and not too hot, the kids loved it and we got lots of pictures.

Then, I go home to put supper in the crockpot, wash my hair and get ready to go to work. I leave and my van is running hot !!! I go to the only place around that is ridiculously priced and have to call someone from work to come pick me up. It's a leaking water pump and the thermostat is frozen to boot......to the tune of $319 !!!

Then at work, I virtually get nothing done.............should have stayed home :-)

I'm praying and trusting in the Lord to make tomorrow a better day.

Later - In Him
